ALES Tech Launches New Factory to Accelerate Semiconductor Production!

埃爾思科技新廠啟用 加速佈局先進半導體市場並推動上市計畫
ALES Tech, founded in 2019 by two postdoctoral researchers from the Institute of Physics of Academia Sinica, held the official opening of its new facility in Taoyuan on March 27, 2024. The event was attended by over 30 distinguished guests from academia, industry, and research sectors. This new facility marks a significant milestone for the company, serving as both its research and operations center. It offers comprehensive production services for Nano Probes, targeting customers in the semiconductor and display industries.
In addition to probe production, the facility will focus on the technological upgrading of FIB (Focused Ion Beam) equipment in its after-sales market, providing clients with advanced semiconductor process inspection and circuit repair solutions. Nano Probes, particularly ALES Tech’ 5nm probes, have already undergone successful internal testing by key clients, leading to the commencement of commercial orders. ALES Tech has also secured stable overseas orders through its sales partner in China, SPIROX, and expects to capture 10-15% of target customers' probe usage by the end of 2024.
Furthermore, the company is actively developing technology upgrades for clients' in-house FIB equipment. These upgrades will extend equipment lifecycles and enhance advanced chip inspection and circuit repair capabilities. The new service is expected to be launched in 2025, broadening ALES Tech’s service offerings and revenue base.
ALES Tech's leadership emphasizes the company’s strong growth trajectory, with plans to leverage its core single-atom source technology and pursue further collaborations. These initiatives are expected to support steady business development and eventually lead to a successful public listing. The company’s progress showcases its capacity to transform cutting-edge academic research into valuable commercial solutions for the semiconductor industry.

來自高雄智高點園區的半導體行業創新公司「埃爾思科技」在3月27日於桃園蘆竹的百坪新廠啟用,在超過30位產學研各界人士的見證下完成剪綵與簡單隆重的開幕儀式,該廠除了是研發與營運中心的定位外,更提供半導體與面板客戶奈微米探針的一條龍生產出貨服務,同時也將佈局FIB(聚焦離子束)設備的售後市場技術升級工作,提供客戶更為完整的先進半導體製程檢測與電路修補完整解決方案。

成立於2019年的埃爾思科技,由來自中央研究院物理所的兩位博士後研究員共同創辦,張維哲博士出任公司董事長並負責整體研發規劃與公司營運事務,林君岳博士則擔任公司技術長聚焦於技術產業化工作,目前團隊已達將近10人規模,主要招募中研院物理所黃英碩老師實驗室的電化學與表面科學團隊以及部分外聘專業人力所組成。中研院物理所現任所長張嘉升博士在開幕致詞時談到,埃爾思團隊的核心技術師承已故院士鄭天佐博士於場離子顯微鏡與原子探針之研究濫觴,鄭院士創造該領域之學術研究先河,迄今發表超過350篇相關國際期刊論文,單原子針相關研究在同為物理所研究員的黃英碩研究團隊接棒發展並催生核心團隊自中研院完成技轉後創立埃爾思科技至今。他認為這是從前瞻學術研究到科研成果產業化的最佳案例,能把研究多年的科研成果落實在產業應用上,除了實現公司的營利增長外,更重要的是能幫忙客戶獲得更好的競爭力並協助產業技術創新與升級轉型,這是很多科學工作者的人生職志,很難得的是有黃英碩教授的苦心育成以及埃爾思團隊落實做成這件事,期望他們越走越遠。

埃爾思科技創辦人暨董事長張維哲博士指出,今天桃園新廠落成啟用是埃爾思公司發展的歷史性里程碑,不僅可以放大奈微米探針的產量藉以服務更多的客戶外,更引入先進的電子顯微鏡設備用於出廠前的品檢,確保品質均一,讓客戶用得安心且滿意。目前埃爾思的5奈米探針最高階產品已取得關鍵客戶的內部測試成功並開始下單採購,同時透過蔚華科技在中國區的銷售代理,更協助埃爾思爭取到來自海外的穩定訂單,預期今年全年在奈米探針的總出貨量可佔目標客戶的整體使用量10-15%,埃爾思的奈米探針已成為先進半導體製程的商用解決方案。另一方面,埃爾思也積極投入在客戶廠內FIB設備的技術升級開發工作,透過埃爾思的單原子光源及其必要系統的更換,可以讓客戶廠內的特定機型就地升級,不僅延長設備退役年限更可以進行先進製程的晶片檢測或電路修補工作,目前已獲得關鍵客戶的專案合作研測中,預計2025年即可成功推出本項服務,擴大埃爾思的服務範疇與營收基礎。


埃爾思董事也是原始投資人的誠研創新總經理鍾金峯認為,埃爾思的技術以及早期商業模式已獲得市場驗證成功,從奈微米探針的產品變現,開始為公司創造穩定的現金流並在這個基礎上積極與國內外關鍵夥伴及客戶協作,力求將最核心的單原子針光源技術分階段商業化,最後將布局GFIS-FIB(氣體場發離子源聚焦離子束)設備的整機研發合作銷售策略,這也為日後埃爾思的資本上市擘劃出一條清晰可行的策略發展路徑。埃爾思團隊在半導體產業的發展,大有可為。
